Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining

Our dedication to helping employers and management maintain smoothly running workplaces extends to our work in labor law as well. Kronick’s skilled negotiators efficiently help management arrive at favorable collective bargaining agreements and resolve a number of other labor-related issues.

Attorneys at Kronick have been engaged in high-profile labor negotiations for many years as evidenced by our Supreme Court victory in 2010 that validated the state employee furlough program implemented by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Kronick has served as the State of California’s only outside counsel assigned to negotiate on behalf of the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR, formerly the Department of Personnel Administration) and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

In addition to representing the State of California, Kronick attorneys handle labor contract negotiations and administration for a broad array of public entities, including cities, counties and special districts. Our experience negotiating complex contracts where labor relations are fractured, as well as working collaboratively with unions to arrive at mutually acceptable terms, conditions and/or settlements, is unmatched in the region.

Kronick supports and encourages strong community service and civic participation. We have been a Partner of the California Public Employers Labor Relations Association (“CalPELRA”), the California Special Districts Association (“CSDA”), the Association of California Water Agencies (“ACWA”), and the League of California Cities (“LOCC”) for many years.
